These brands have actually been featured on Reel Talk before, but it’s been a while. So we thought we’d highlight them to remind you how great these five companies are.
Here are some of our favorite environmentally conscious personal care brands!
Mable
If you know how much we love bamboo, you know we love Mable’s bamboo toothbrushes. Aside from being fully biodegradable — one of the many benefits of bamboo — their brushes have an ergonomic handle that’s comfortable to hold. It even stands up on its own.
Additionally, with every brush they sell, they donate one to a child in need. With that donation also comes a great deal of education. Mable’s community outreach team travels to classrooms across the country to educate students on sustainability!
Since we last saw them more than a year ago, Mable has launched several environmentally conscious products. Bamboo cotton swabs and refillable dental floss, to name a few, have made successful debuts.
Twice
Twice is the toothpaste brand bringing smiles to those in need. Brothers Julian and Cody Levine teamed up with musician Lenny Kravitz to build a brand dedicated to helping others. With every sale, 10% goes to support humanitarian missions providing free, full-service dental care to communities in need.
Their toothpaste is pretty great too! Available in three flavors, Twice brand toothpaste touts benefits like whitening teeth, strengthening enamel, and reducing sensitivity. All of these benefits come in a paste that is totally sustainably sourced.
Reel
Here at Reel, we’re dedicated to delivering environmentally conscious bamboo paper products that positively impact people’s lives. For this reason, our products are soft and absorbent yet strong and wholly biodegradable. On top of that, our sustainably sourced bamboo regrows rapidly, so we promote both environmental and personal health.
We’re about more than just great bamboo products, though. Along with our partners at SOIL, we work to promote health and hygiene in underserved Haitian communities. This work involves removing harmful waste, composting it, and returning it to the community as rich soil.
Eco Soap Bank
Eco Soap Bank fights at the forefront of eco-friendly personal hygiene and humanitarianism. Their mission is to save both the planet and people by starting with those most in need.
The company collects used soap, sanitizes it, and then hires local women to make the new soap. Once it’s ready to be used, Eco Soap Bank distributes the product to clinics, schools, and communities in need.
With each soap donation, Eco Soap Bank educated children and other community members on proper hygiene and handwashing. This protects the community from preventable illnesses and cultivates a young generation that’s stronger, healthier, and smarter.
